One of the Timbers' new signings opened the scoring for the 2017 MLS season after a cross and a flick to the back post.

The former Sporting Kansas City utility player got the first goal of the 2017 MLS season in Friday night's opener, finishing off a cross to put the Portland Timbers up on Minnesota United in the 14th minute.
