The Spanish youth international inspired Porto to a 7-0 destruction at the Dragao with a goal, an assist, and a match-high 90 passes on the night
This past weekend saw Porto starlet Oliver Torres prove his FIFA 17 FUT rating will no doubt be on the rise with yet another impressive performance in Liga NOS.
Selected as one of Goal’s 50 Rising Stars of FUT, the 22-year-old once again proved he is ready to turn promise into reality with a midfield masterclass as he orchestrated a 7-0 demolition of Nacional at the Dragao on Saturday evening.
The Spain youth international is showing consistent signs of his burgeoning maturity and was imperious at the weekend as Porto moved within one point of leaders Benfica.
He made the all-important breakthrough after half an hour against Nacional, darting across the near post to expertly convert a low cross from Alex Torres.
With the visitors rearguard breached, Nacional were forced to step out and try to force their way back into the game, leaving Torres and Co. to dominate the midfield area and pick them off at will.
Torres had a match-high 107 touches as nobody could better his return of 70 passes in the opposition’s half, nor his 90 passes overall.
He created three chances for his team-mates and added to his opener by conducting Porto’s magnificent third goal of the evening, sumptuously chipping a short pass over the top of the Nacional defence for the onrushing Andre Andre to provide Andre Silva with a tap-in.
Last month Porto exercised a €20 million clause to make his loan move permanent, no doubt convinced they would make a sizeable profit if and when Europe’s big boys come sniffing around this summer.
Oliver Torres’ star looks set to continue to rise.
