The Belgium international put Antonio Conte's side in front 25 minutes in, but there was drama during the team's goal celebration.

Stewards were forced to restrain the overbearing fan, who can be seen with a furious look on his face as he approached the huddle of Chelsea stars, including Diego Costa, Hazard, Cesar Azpilicueta and N'Golo Kante.

David Luiz is also seen trying to run interference before the stewards managed to usher the fan away from the Chelsea players.

This follows assurances from West Ham that the club had put in extra measures to ensure there would be no crowd trouble after the previous meeting between the clubs, an EFL Cup clash last October, was marred by hooliganism.

After that match the club announced a five-point plan to deal with future issues, though it unfortunately did not stop the pitch invader in Monday's clash.

"Last time wasn’t good, not good at all,” said Chelsea’s manager, Antonio Conte, when asked about the crowd trouble of their previous meeting.

"I hope in this game our fans, the West Ham fans, enjoy totally the game and find the right atmosphere. In England, it’s very strange for me to talk about this: usually in every game you find the right atmosphere … I think the players, the club, the country deserves this."
