Get the latest on the injuries keeping players from Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and more in the Premier League out of action

Chelsea are the only team in the Premier League currently enjoying a completely clean bill of health as we enter the final stage of the season.

All other 19 clubs are battling ailments of some kind ahead of this week's mix of league, FA Cup and Europa League fixtures, with Hull City the worst off with a total of 10 potential absences for their match against Swansea City.

Rooney & Shaw left out of Man Utd squad

Here is the latest on the biggest names currently sidelined in the English top flight.

HENRIKH MKHITARYAN

Mkhitaryan missed the EFL Cup final victory over Southampton and the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth with a hamstring injury, but is back in the squad for Manchester United's trip to Rostov in the Europa League on Thursday night.

His return will be a welcome boost for Jose Mourinho after United once again failed to crack a deep defence in what could prove to be a costly tie with the Cherries.

Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney have not travelled to Russia but it is not clear if either has an injury. Both started against Bournemouth but have generally fallen out of favour this season, and Shaw was seen limping after one tackle.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is also out with what Mourinho has described only as a "little problem" and it is possible the poor condition of Rostov's pitch will dissuade the coach from risking players with minor fitness concerns.

VINCENT KOMPANY

Many wonder whether Kompany will ever return to his best form, but the Belgian will give it another shot after returning from his latest muscle problem.

Pep Guardiola confirmed that his captain was close to returning ahead of the weekend fixture against Sunderland and though he is unlikely to start against Stoke City on Wednesday, he could be in contention for the FA Cup visit to Middlesbrough.

Guardiola is likely to want to enforce a degree of rotation ahead of the Champions League decider against Monaco next week, which could open the door to Kompany.

City's only other absentees are Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan. Gundogan is out for the remainder of the season but Jesus may have a chance of returning in late April.

SANTI CAZORLA

Like Kompany, Cazorla has had much of his season wiped out by injury and Arsenal have sorely missed his presence in midfield.

Arsene Wenger recently admitted it is unlikely the Spaniard will play again this season as he undergoes more complex treatment aimed at ending his troublesome ankle problem, with the playmaker short of time to regain match fitness before the end of the campaign even if he did make a recovery.

Mesut Ozil – who Wenger believes has suffered as a result of Cazorla's absence – missed the defeat to Liverpool due to illness but came off the bench for the second leg of the Gunners' Champions League humiliation against Bayern Munich.

Danny Welbeck has also been feeling unwell and missed the Bayern match but is not expected to be out for long, while Mohamed Elneny should only be a week or so away from a return if his recovery from an ankle injury has gone as planned.

DANIEL STURRIDGE

Sturridge is unlikely to be available for Liverpool's match against Burnley after suffering a hip strain that has limited his ability to train fully this week.

Jordan Henderson is in a similar situation with a foot injury, with Jurgen Klopp hopeful he would have the midfielder back for the visit of the Clarets though his lack of minutes on the practice field in the lead-up to the game not an encouraging sign.

Dejan Lovren is back in training, however, and will be assessed ahead of the match at Anfield on Sunday.

ERIK LAMELA

Lamela's absence is one of the most mysterious cases of the season. The Argentine has been ruled out since October with what has now been described variously as a virus, back problem and hip injury.

The lack of clarity has unsurprisingly generated a number of theories, some more likely than others, as to why his recovery is taking so long.

There has been concern among Spurs fans that the winger wishes to return to Italy due to the fact he has visited Roma, his former club, for help with his rehabilitation, while he is also said to have attended to family issues in Argentina.

Lamela's brother was hospitalised around the turn of the year after a motorcycle accident and some reports – which he denied – have even claimed that the 25-year-old was devastated by the death of his dog, Simba, further complicating his situation.

Spurs expect Danny Rose to return from a knee injury, meanwhile, at the start of April after the international break.
