Emre Can: Yet to agree terms on a new contract
Jurgen Klopp is keen to hold talks with Emre Can in an effort to end the conract stand-off between Liverpool and the midfielder, according to reports.
The 23-year-old goes into the last year of his contract next season with no agreement over a new deal at Anfield in sight.
Talks are thought to have broken down before Christmas with Reds sporting director Michael Edwards unable to strike an agreement with Can’s representatives.
The Liverpool Echo claims that although talks have yet to resume, Klopp is hoping to get further discussions underway at the end of the season.
The main stumbling block is thought to be the £100,000-per-week wage demands with Liverpool unsure whether the German international is worth that amount.
Can’s performances have been mixed this season but if he can improve his displays between now and the end of the season then he will strengthen his chances of a vastly improved deal.
